Press Release: Australian Software Developer Signs 10-Year Contract
Perth based Fundi Software has shown that the IT industry can make long term commitments by signing American vendor BMC Software to a 10 year contract. BMC Software, Inc, [NYSE: BMC], is a leading provider of enterprise management. Its revenues for fiscal year 2001 were approximately $1.3 billion ($US). Fundi, a company wholly owned by KAZ Group Limited, focuses on the development of enterprise systems management software.
The contract builds upon Fundi Software reputation in the international market. In 1999 Fundi Software won the prestigious Western Australian Technology Award for Software Exporter of the Year.
BMC Software will apply Fundi Software Proteus software, a change control product, to manage development of its mainframe software. Proteus provides whole of lifecycle control for all aspects of application development and maintenance – providing all ‘change control’ functions - the complete management of the way that different versions of computer applications are controlled through each stage of the development lifecycle.
The unusually long term of the contract follows a two-year search by BMC Software to find the right software tool for its needs. Fundi Software was selected over stiff competition that included major global software companies. Proteus will enable BMC Software’s development teams to better manage OS/390 based source code by keeping track of code, identifying changes through an xref facility, providing an easier build process and allowing for the development of parallel projects.
