Jim Martin, renowned IMS expert, joins Fundi Software

Fundi Software is pleased to announce the appointment of Jim Martin as its US representative. Jim will be representing Fundi Software in the United States, and will be assisting with product direction and design.

Jim comes to Fundi Software with a wealth of experience, particularly in the IMS area. Jim has been working with IMS since 1971, when he joined IBM working on IMS 360 V2.2. He spent 24 years at IBM, concluding with 8 years as a member of the IMS team at the Dallas Systems Center. While at DSC, he was assigned to the Critical Situations team and helped customers with a wide range of issues, such as performance, availability and virtual storage constraints. Jim has also designed and developed components of IMS while on assignments to IMS development. Jim was the IMS Group Representative to Guide when he left IBM in 1991.

After leaving IBM, Jim joined BMC. In his roles as product author and Corporate Product architect, Jim designed and wrote a number of significant IMS related products for BMC. During his tenure at BMC, Jim was awarded four patents and has five more pending - more than anyone else in BMC history. Jim has recently been awarded a fifth patent for his work on the design of the Online Defrag product. Jim has remained a leader in the IMS industry, writing articles for trade publications and making presentations at technical conferences and user group meetings. Jim retired from BMC in May 2001.

Jim is a welcome addition to the Fundi Software team. His experience and expertise complement the Fundi Software team and adds great value to the Fundi Software capability.
